One of my roles within the committee is to moderate a few of the standards. I learn so many valuable things by doing this. This includes seeing first-hand how our incredible students are starting to think like psychologists and the vast range of assessment tasks across the country. Many schools do the assessments in unique ways, all with their own unique strengths. My advice to schools is to try different ways of assessing standards across your course. A good course tends to have the right balance between doing a portfolio, research assessment and tests. It can be tempting to assess this much like a lot of social studies standards, however, we are lucky to have our very own achievement standards which we can assess uniquely to inspire the next generation of psychologists.
